Dump That Fridge is not trading yet. Right now this site does one thing: it keeps a waitlist of people who want to cook or eat when we open in their area. This page says exactly what that involves.
Who we are
Dump That Fridge is run by INCREATUS, which is the data controller for the information on this site. Contact us about anything on this page at jingin@dumpthatfridge.com.
What we collect when you join the waitlist
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Your email address (required) | To tell you when we open near you. |
| Whether you want to cook or eat (required) | So we send you the right news. |
| Your postcode (optional) | To decide which areas to open first. |
| Cuisines you pick or type (optional): what you cook, or what you want to eat | To plan which kitchens each area needs first. |
| Whether your kitchen is already registered with your council (optional, cooks) | To know how much help cooks need to get set up. |
| Where you signed up from (for example "site") | To see which pages bring people in. |
We do not ask for your name, phone number, address or payment details, and we do not sell or share your details with anyone for marketing.
If you put your kitchen on Kitchen cam
We keep your email, your kitchen name, your YouTube Channel ID, the flag and the line about what you cook. Only the kitchen name, flag, line and your YouTube live stream are shown on the site; your email never is. We use your email once, to send the link that switches your cam on and lets you take it off. Taking your cam off deletes these details straight away.
When a visitor reports a stream we store a scrambled code (as described below) so one person can't report the same stream twice in a day. A cam reported by three different visitors is hidden automatically.
If you become a Founding Cook
Payment is taken by Stripe on Stripe's own secure page; your card details go to Stripe, never to us. Stripe tells us your name, email and that you paid, which we keep to honour your Founding Cook place and any refund, and for as long as the law requires us to keep payment records.
Our lawful basis
Consent. You choose to join the list, and you can leave it at any time by emailing us. We will only use your email for Dump That Fridge launch news.
How long we keep it
Until we open in your area and have told you, or until you ask us to remove you, whichever comes first. If we decide not to launch, we will delete the list.
Cookies and technical data
We set one cookie, a session cookie, which keeps the signup form working and stops it being submitted over and over. It is deleted when you close your browser. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
To stop automated abuse of the form, we store a scrambled code made from your IP address and browser details. It changes every day, cannot be turned back into your IP address, and is deleted within 24 hours.
This site loads its fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google when you visit. Google's own privacy policy covers that connection.
Kitchen cam videos may play from YouTube. Nothing is loaded from YouTube until you press play; after that, YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode and its own privacy policy apply. Flag images and kitchen photos are served from this site.
Where it is stored
Your details are stored in a database with our website hosting provider, which may keep data outside the UK. Where that happens, the provider is required to protect it to the standard UK law requires.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email jingin@dumpthatfridge.com and we will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
